Unable to log into My Account at home.mcafee.com

Issue Description

If you are having difficulty logging on to your account, you may be typing in the wrong email address or password, or the site could be automatically entering an invalid email address or password. The instructions below will help you to retrieve the correct email address to log on to your account.


Retype your email address
Log out and log back in again. Your computer may be automatically entering an email address that is no longer valid. If you log out, you will be able to enter a valid email address to log back in.

  1. Go to http://home.mcafee.com.
  2. Click Log Out (if displayed).
  3. Click Log In.
  4. If an email address is automatically displayed in the Email Address field, delete it.
  5. Type your registered email address and password then click Log In.

If you receive an error message when logging in, you have typed an incorrect email address or password.

Our database keeps the login email address and password you originally used when registering on the site or purchasing the software. The database does not recognize multiple forms of the same email address. For example @worldnet.att.net and @att.net would not be recognized as different versions of the same email address.

If you are using the correct email address, you might be typing in the wrong password. 

Retrieve your password or email address
If you do not have the product installed, or have forgotten your email address or password, do the following:

  1. Go to http://home.mcafee.com.
  2. Click My Account
  3. Click Forgot Your Password? or Forgot Your Email Address? Your password information will be sent to the email address you provided when you installed the product. Your email address will display.
  4. Under Forgot Your Password, type your registered email address.
  5. Click Get Password.
  6. When you receive confirmation that your password has been sent to you, click Close.

NOTE: A valid password can only contain letters and numbers. If the retrieved password contains any non-alphanumeric characters (! @ & ", and so on.), you will not be able to log in.
