How to uninstall Verizon Family Protection

Solution

IMPORTANT: Uninstalling Verizon Family Protection requires an Uninstall Code. Use the following procedure to generate a code:

  1. Double-click the Family Protection icon in your taskbar.
  2. Login to Family Protection using your Administrator credentials.
  3. Click Get Uninstall Code. Make a note of this code.

    NOTE: The uninstall code expires at midnight.
     
  4. Click Done.
  5. Close all programs and disconnect your computer from the Internet (To do this, turn off your DSL or Cable modem, or unplug your network cable).
  6. Use Windows uninstall tools:

    Windows 8
    1. Select the hot corner (Start button).
    2. Right-click the icon for the application you want to remove.
    3. Select Uninstall.

    Windows 7/Windows Vista
    1. Click Start, Search, type Programs and Features and click Go.
    2. Double-click Programs and Features.
    3. Select the program to uninstall.
    4. Click Uninstall and follow the onscreen prompts.

    Windows XP
    1. Click Start, Settings, Control Panel.
    2. Double-click Add or Remove Programs.
    3. Select the program to uninstall.
    4. Click Remove and follow the onscreen prompts.
       
  7. Type your Administrator credentials and uninstall code (if prompted).
  8. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the uninstall process.
  9. Restart your computer.
