How do I register my product?


Issue Description

Product registration normally occurs during the installation process. To register your product, you must be connected to the Internet during installation. Please note that Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.x or later is required to register your product. You can download the latest version of Internet Explorer at:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.mspx.

If you receive a 500-100 error or an error that states A network error was encountered, please try again later, remove any non-alphanumeric characters (& ??? '' < > #) from the text fields in your registration form and try registering again.


 

Solution

If the registration wizard does not display after the installation of the product, please follow the steps below:

  1. Right-click the M icon on your taskbar.
  2. Select Check for updates. If you have not registered your software, you will be prompted to register before obtaining your updates.

    NOTE: You must be connected to the Internet to register or update your product.
     
  3. When the McAfee Product Registration window displays, click Next to continue with the registration process.
  4. Complete the product registration form to proceed with updating the product.

After your product is registered, it will automatically update when connected to the Internet.
